Vision work tackles life’s arguably biggest question:

“What the hell do I want to do with my life?”

This question is tangled with so much fear. So many stories we tell ourselves.

It is deep work that needs to be approached in a playful and light-hearted way.

And it is not for everyone.

Many people are so afraid of the unknown that they prefer to stay with the pain they know.

What is a life vision truly

Most people think that a life vision is about dreaming of a better tomorrow. And it works great for that.

But, the biggest value of a good life vision is that it helps unlock everything the here and now has to offer.

A life vision is exactly that, an exercise in Seeing life clearly. This life, here and now.

We do not need to make the now not good enough, pursuing a better, more abundant future.

When we go deeper into the now, we unlock everything that is already here. And it is always mind-blowing.

The path to more is through less

Another misconception is that vision-setting is an exercise in addition. The vision-setting process is almost always an exercise in subtraction.

Just like when looking for a treasure buried in the earth, you need to remove the soil to find it.

I always felt some resistance when I saw the “I am made for more” mantra on the internet.

There is nothing inherently bad with wanting more.

We live in a universe that expands.

But there is often a misunderstanding about how to get more.

“More” is everywhere. There is abundance all around us, more than we will ever need. We do not need to chase it. We just need to allow it.

We often get ourselves into a box and strive to find the light.

The light already exists; all we have to do is step out of our box and bask in its radiance.

The path to more is through less.

Less fear, ego and “shoulds.” Fewer distractions, illusions, and “priorities.”

Less “box.”

The journey of explorers

The people who succeed in the vision work come in as explorers.

This is your life. Nobody can tell you what to do with it.

After having coached hundreds on getting clarity, when I work with clients on vision I can point to where the pieces of the puzzle might be hidden.

Then, they go find the pieces and assemble them to form the picture.

Many people are impatient during this process.

They are uncomfortable with the uncertainty and ambiguity. They want a decision and closure.

But this creative void might turn out to be the biggest opportunity of our lives.

The time when we are free to explore. Where everything is possible.

Coming home to ourselves.

Reconnecting to pure desire which is how our inner wisdom speaks to us.

Experimenting.

It is the journey of a lifetime.
