Happy New Year! I hope 2024 brings your authentic desires to life. For some of you, this will require some change.

I wanted to talk today about the signs suggesting it’s time for a change. Here are five key warning signs to look out for:

1. Lack of Motivation and Engagement, Coupled with Dread

If you’re not excited or motivated about your day-to-day activities, it might be time to think about a change. You would not keep reading a book that no longer interests you, right?

If you have a sense of dread before key activities like work or returning home, I would look into what needs to change urgently. Before the dread converts into health issues or major failures.

2. Feeling of Envy and Constant Comparison

Constantly comparing yourself to others and feeling envious can signal that you’re unsatisfied with your life.

This sign points to a need to reassess your direction to find more personal fulfilment.

3. Stagnation in Personal Growth

If you feel like you’re not growing, learning new things, or using your best skills, it’s like being stuck at the same level in a game without any progress.

This feeling of stagnation suggests that you need a change, perhaps a new challenge or environment where you can thrive and grow.

4. Seeking Escapism

Do you constantly seek ways to escape from your reality, whether through binge-watching TV, videogames or other forms of escapism? It can be a sign that you’re not content with your current situation.

This behaviour is a way of coping with dissatisfaction and indicates it might be time to explore new avenues.

5. Hiding True Feelings or Ambitions

Do you feel like you’re playing a role rather than being your authentic self?  Are you reluctant to share your true feelings and ambitions with others?

These feelings might indicate a misalignment between your inner desires and current path.

Now what?

These signs serve as indicators that you might need to pause and reflect. Is there an opportunity to steer your life towards a path that aligns more closely with your happiness and fulfilment?
